Strong Authentication for Digital Financial Services Workshop

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the SBS Peru organized jointly a Strong Authentication for Digital Financial Services Workshop (DFS) online on 12-13 December 2023 for DFS stakeholders in Peru. ​​

The main objectives of the workshop was to provide:
  • Deep dive on the implementation of FIDO authentication and Blockchain secure authentication standards and protocols to enable passwordless authentication for mobile payments;
  • Provide an overview of the deployment of each respective technology and their address any implementation challenges and, 
  • Share insights on how to address and prevent fraud with regards to digital finance. 
Target audience: This workshop was intended for IT security professionals from the DFS Regulators and DFS providers in Peru​​.  ​

  • FIDO credentials management: Learn how to manage FIDO credentials securely and efficiently, including provision, revoke, and recover credentials 
  • Investigating FIDO fraud: Learn about the different types of FIDO fraud, and how to use the information stored by banks to investigate and prevent fraud.
