THE HAGUE – Lilianne Ploumen, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands and Irene Khan, Director-General of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), signed the Seat Agreement for the establishment of a Branch Office of IDLO in The Hague.

(New York) March 18, 2014 – Fundamental justice for the women of Afghanistan will only come from increased participation in their country’s justice sector, a report released today by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) shows.

NAIROBI, February 18, 2014 –Director-General Irene Khan has met Chief Justice of Kenya Willy Mutunga and his Somali counterpart, Aidid Abdullahi Ilka Hanaf, to review IDLO’s support for Somalia as it develops a first national Strategic Action Plan. The Organization is also busy helping establish a Judicial Service Commission under Somalia’s constitutional famework.

Anti-corruption and integrity-building efforts are being seen as a means to achieve better development outcomes, rather than a mere moral endeavor. In its most explicit involvement with the topic yet, IDLO has told Albania that it is ready to assist its attempts to cut corruption and boost the rule of law.
