Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is now underway with the theme of Designing Future Society for Our Lives. At the Expo, many people and innovations from around the world come together, in an effort to address issues facing humankind on a global scale. Many people from Japan and overseas are visiting the Expo, with great excitement on display every day. In this issue of HIGHLIGHTING Japan, we feature an interview with ISHIGE Hiroyuki, Secretary General, Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, about the significance of hosting this Expo, and introduce the famous areas that comprise the main motifs of the Domestic Pavilions that are centered on Osaka and the Kansai region.
