The 10th Workshop on Low-Energy Positron and Positronium Physics ( Positron Workshop 99) will take place from 28 to 31 July, 1999 in Tsukuba, Japan. The Workshop is an official satellite meeting of XXI ICPEAC, which will be held in Sendai, Japan during 21 - 27 July, 1999.
Purpose
The purpose of the Workshop is to review recent research on low-energy positron and positronium physics and highlight interesting areas for future development.
Venue
The Workshop will be held at KEK (High Energy Accelerator Research Organization), Tsukuba, Japan, on the occasion of establishing the slow positron facility of Institute of Materials Structure Science (IMSS) in KEK. Tsukuba is located about 60 km (40miles) north of Tokyo.
Scientific Program
The Workshop will consist mainly of progress reports and review papers by invited speakers. In addition, contributed papers are very welcome and will be presented in a poster session. Authors of particularly topical and interesting contributed papers may be asked to give oral presentations of their work. Young researchers are strongly encouraged to attend.
Among the more important areas to be covered at the Workshop will be: 1. Recent research on atomic processes involving positrons and/or positronium. 2. Related topics, e.g. comparison with scattering processes involving other particles such as electrons, muons and antiprotons. 3. Recent research with slow positron and positronium beams.
Publication
The Proceedings of the workshop will be published from Elsevier Publications as a topical issue of Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research : Section B(NIM-B) after a standard reviewing process of the Journal.
Registration and Accommodation
Participants will be accommodated in KEK. Registration fee is 20,000 yen including the accomodation and the conference banquet but not including meal.
Social Program
A reception will be held in KEK on the evening of Wednesday, 28 July for participants and accompanying persons. In addition a conference banquet will be held outside KEK.
