Notification regarding the temporary closure of the Geo-Cosmos (From Tuesday, October 5, 2021)

The Geo-Cosmos, the symbol exhibition of Miraikan, will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, October 5, 2021 for maintenance. We thank you for your understanding, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

While the display is closed, visitors will not be able to view or use the Geo-Cosmos, the Geo-Prism, the Symbol Zone, or the Oval Bridge. These are scheduled to reopen at the end of March 2022.

After the maintenance is completed, this display will offer brighter, more vivid, and richer visuals due to increased luminance, a wider color gamut, and HDR capabilities.

*Please be aware that the duration of the Geo-Cosmos closure may be subject to change. We will inform you on the Miraikan website when the reopening date is confirmed.

Duration of closure and locations

Duration: Tuesday, October 5, 2021 to the end of March, 2022 (scheduled)

Locations: The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation’s Symbol Zone, the Geo-Cosmos (Miraikan’s symbol exhibition), and the Oval Bridge.
