Logo Data and Usage
The logo of the School of Science at the University of Tokyo was selected from among 84 entries submitted by 50 applicants.
The blue and yellow color-palette reflects the University of Tokyo's official colors. The outer blue curves look like the hiragana character "り" (ri), which is the first syllable of the Japanese word for science, "rigaku", and the inner yellow figure resembles the letter "S" from "science."
We believe this logo elegantly symbolizes the School of Science and hope that it is used for many years to come.
