Current Situations of Fukushima to be Conveyed

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) produced and released a PR video clip with Japanese and English captions that summarizes the attractiveness of Fukushima Prefecture, the current situations of efforts for reconstructing the prefecture and other information. Moreover, it opened a website in Japanese and English presenting a collection of tourism resources and other information on 12 municipalities in the prefecture targeting visitors from home and abroad. Through these efforts, METI aims to remove negative effects on the Hamadori area and other areas in the prefecture caused by harmful rumors and encourage more and more people to interact with residents of the prefecture.

PR video clip titled “Fukushima 2020”

It has been nine years since the occurrence of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Since then, in the Hamadori area in Fukushima, the efforts towards reconstruction of the area have steadily been advancing as seen in the lifting of the evacuation orders from Futaba Town and other areas and resumption of full operation of the JR Joban Line. METI released a PR video clip titled “Fukushima 2020” with Japanese and English captions, aiming to communicate the current situations of Fukushima Prefecture, including situations of reconstruction, the attractiveness of tourism and other specialties and people in these areas who are making efforts to build a promising future, to a wide variety of people inside and outside Japan.

Website presenting a collection of tourism resources and other information on 12 municipalities in the prefecture

METI opened a website in Japanese and English presenting a collection of information on attractive spots, e.g., tourism destinations, accommodations, restaurants and souvenir- and other shopping, in 12 municipalities in the prefecture, aiming to encourage more and more people to interact with residents of the Hamadori area and other areas in the prefecture and to encourage many people visiting the municipalities from home and abroad to make use of the website.
