- Responses to the novel coronavirus disease provided by administrative organizations -
March 23, 2020
The IT Strategic Headquarters of the Cabinet Secretariat, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) aggregate data on a variety of support measures for companies that ministries and agencies as well as municipalities and other entities provide as responses to the novel coronavirus disease. They also provide a search service that will allow companies to find suitable support measures on one platform. First, data provided by the national government institutions will be registered on the platform, and data provided by municipalities will be registered following that.
Outline of this effort
The government has been advancing economic and other measures as united responses to the novel coronavirus disease and it has already prepared a variety of support measures for individuals and companies. To achieve the goals of these measures, it is important to help users access their information smoothly in an easy-to-understand manner, and to encourage businesses to take advantage of these measures and bring back their business activities into normal operations.
To achieve these goals, it is necessary to develop a user-friendly environment through which people can access information on support measures from all organizations including all ministries and agencies, prefectures, and municipalities, on a single platform.
IT Strategic Headquarters, MIC and METI standardize data on support measures provided by the respective ministries and agencies and provide it as open data.

Note: The government utilizes private services in order to speed up data collection.
In addition to this effort, the government has been discussing the provision of services to help people search for the data. On March 23, 2020, the government started a service titled “Navigation of Information on Support Measures” as a tool for companies to search for data on support measures. It is a part of “Mirasapo Plus,” an integrated support site for SMEs launched on April 1, 2020.
Notes:
1. This website is still in a testing phase. Please be aware that you may face some problems when browsing or searching data.
2. If you input the term “novel coronavirus disease” in the search box of the website and click the “Refine Search” button at the upper right, you can narrow the search conditions and find more specific support measures.
Moreover, the government has been holding discussions with a Civic Tech association and other organizations concerning providing search services for data on the government’s support measures to individuals and data provided through “#Navigation of Information on Private Support Services,” a project for providing open data started on March 9, 2020.
The data on support measures that the government has aggregated will be published as open data. In addition, the government will encourage municipalities that are interested in this service to register data on their own support measures and will make it open once such preparations are completed.
Through these efforts, the government strives to develop an environment in which citizens and companies are able to continue their business and daily life activities in a safe and secure manner.
