Companies to be Subsidized under the FY2019 Subsidy Project for Supporting Businesses in Introducing Facilities for Producing Face Masks Nominated
March 13, 2020
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) nominated eight companies from among applicants under the FY2019 Subsidy Project for Supporting Businesses in Introducing Facilities for Producing Face Masks. This is the result of a strict examination of such applicants by external experts.
1. Overview of the project
Following on from the nomination of three companies on February 28, 2020, METI selected the following eight companies from among applicant companies under the subsidy project as a result of a strict examination of such applicants by external experts. Accordingly, METI decided to support the eight companies in introducing facilities for enhancing their production of face masks to the level of about 56.5 million.
The nominated companies will install such facilities by the end of March and will start or increase their face mask production soon thereafter.
Prior to this nomination, from February 20 to March 11, 2020, METI opened a call for corporate applicants to be subsidized in introducing facilities for enhancing their production of face masks by the end of March 2020, and examined the applicants and nominated the eight companies above.
