The 1st Akaike Memorial Lecture Award
The 1st Akaike Memorial Lecture was held as the session of 2016 Japanese Joint Statistical Meeting at the Kakuma Campus of Kanazawa University.
Prof. Tomoyuki Higuchi, Director-General of The Institute Statistical Mathematics (ISM) and Prof. Manabu Iwasaki, President of The Japan Statistical Society (JSS) presented the plaque and honorarium to Prof. C.F.Jeff Wu of Wu of Georgia Institute of Technology, the awardee.
After the award ceremony, Prof. Wu gave his Akaike Memorial Lecture whose
title was "A fresh look at effect aliasing and interactions: some
new wine in old bottle".
Then Two young discussants, Dr. Ryo Yoshida, Associate Professor of ISM
and Dr. Chien-Yu Peng, Associate Researcher of Academia Sinica Taiwan,
presented comments and had discussion with Prof. Wu after the lectrure.
And floor discussion was also held. The 1st Akaike Memorial Lecture finished
successfully.
We do hope this Akaike Memorial Lecture Award would be the regular
opportunity to promote international academic exchange for various researchers
and to develop the research field of statistical science.
