Change your Camera app settings

To turn on flash for brighter photos:

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings and then Flash .

Important: This feature is available on Pixel 5a and later, including Fold.

When you record video at a zoomed target, turn on Audio Zoom to boost sound and reduce other noise.

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. Switch to Video mode Open video mode.
3. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
4. Turn on Audio zoom.

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings and then More settings.
3. Under "General options," tap Advanced.
4. Turn on RAW/JPEG control.

Tip: This step isn't required on Pixel 8 Pro.

Turn on RAW

1. In photo mode, at the bottom left, tap Settings .
2. Turn on RAW + JPEG.

Use gridlines to straighten photos

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
3. Tap More Settings and then Grid type.
4. Select the type of grid you want.

Adjust the photo's ratio

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
3. Select a ratio option:
   • Wide crop (16:9)
   • Full image (4:3)

Important:

• This feature is available on Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
• This feature isn’t available in Video mode.

You can apply different visual looks to your photos and personalize them. You can choose:

• A default Look which affects the way your HDR photos are processed
• A stylized Look for creative or artistic photos

To change your default Look:

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. In Photo mode, at the bottom right, tap Controls .
3. At the bottom left, tap Looks.
4. To choose your default Look, select from the dropdown at the top of the screen.
   • This will be applied every time you open the Camera app.

To change a stylized Look:

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. In Photo mode, at the bottom right, tap Controls .
3. At the bottom left, tap Looks.
4. To find the different options, swipe left on the viewfinder.
5. To fine-tune your chosen Look, at the bottom, tap a control like Contrast or Highlights.
   • To achieve your desired effect, move the sliders. Changes you make are saved for the Look.
6. To always use the selected stylized Look, tap Photo settings and then More and then Always use selected Look.

Tips:

• When a Look is active, at the bottom right, a small indicator appears.
• To quickly switch Looks, you can add a quick access control to the viewfinder.

You can adjust your camera controls to quickly access the features and controls you need the most.

You can customize which mode your Camera opens in like Video. To set the mode:

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. Tap Photo settings and then More and then Launch mode.
3. Select your preferred mode.

Tip: If you set a shortcut to open Camera with double press the power button, this will also apply.

You can also add frequently used controls to your viewfinder. You can have up to 4 quick access controls, 2 on the left side and 2 on the right side. When you’ve added them, the quick access controls appear when you tap your viewfinder.

To use the quick access controls in your viewfinder:

1. Open the Camera app Google Camera.
2. Tap Photo settings and then More .
3. Tap Quick access controls and then Turn on quick access controls.

Tip: To change where the control options appear in the viewfinder, touch and hold, then drag them.

You may get a warning message if your camera senses that the lens is dirty. To turn off these messages:

1. Open your Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings and then More settings and then Advanced.
3. Turn off Show dirty lens warning.

1. Open your Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings and then More settings.
3. Turn off Save location.

Tip: To view a timestamp for any photo, in the bottom right corner, tap the photo and then More . If you leave location stamps on, you’ll also get the photo location.

Videos

To find out how many photos and minutes of video you can take on your Pixel phone:

1. Open your Camera app Google Camera.
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings and then More settings and then Device Storage .
3. Your remaining storage is detailed at the top of your screen.
   • To optimize storage space: Turn on Storage Saver.
   • To remove files: Tap Free up space.
