Dispute, report, or cancel a payment

You can dispute unauthorized Google Pay transactions and cancel certain payments.

Step 1: Check if the payment went through

  • You can't dispute a payment until it’s finished.
  • The amount shown for payments that are still going through might change.
  • When you stop a payment, it might take time before you get your money back.

Step 2: Check if someone you know made the payment

If someone in your family or a friend used your Google Wallet or your payment method, go to the relevant section below.

Cancel a Google subscription

Important: When you stop a subscription, you won't get the money back for payments you already made. You can't change your mind about stopping a subscription, but you can always sign up again.

Step 3: Dispute a payment you didn't make

If you think someone made a Google Pay or YouTube payment that you didn't know about, you can say "no" to the payment. Learn how to report a problem.
Dispute a payment you don’t recognize in the Google Wallet app or on the Google Wallet website
If you find a payment that you don't recognize, contact your bank or the store where the payment was made.

Step 4: Dispute payments you made with Google Pay

To dispute a suspected scam or fraudulent Google Pay charge that you made, contact your bank or card provider immediately. You can also report suspicious websites to Google. Learn how to report suspicious websites.
