Understand eligibility
Each Google One student offer has unique eligibility requirements based on the offer type and features included. To learn more, refer to the individual offers listed below.
In general, to be eligible for a Google One student offer, you must:
- Be a student at a higher education institution in a country or region where Google AI Plus and Google AI Pro are supported (excluding Albania, Bolivia, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, and Tunisia).
- Verify your student status through SheerID using a valid school email address.
- Have a personal Google Account with a qualifying form of payment at sign-up.
New and existing Google One members are eligible, with the exception of:
- Family group members, unless they leave their shared plan first. Learn how family groups work.

Eligible students can get a 12-month Google AI Plus (400 GB) student trial plan at no cost.
With a Google AI Plus plan, you get expanded access to certain Google AI features. Learn more about Google AI Plus benefits.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a student at a higher education institution in a country or region where Google AI Plus is available (excluding Albania, Bolivia, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, Tunisia, and the United States).
- Verify your student status through SheerID using a valid school email address.
- Have a personal Google Account.
- Have a Google Payments account with a qualifying form of payment at sign-up.
Important: If you upgrade to a paid membership from the 12-month trial, you will not be eligible for the trial offer again.
Eligible students can get a Google AI Pro plan at a discounted rate while you remain a student, for up to 4 consecutive years.

Sign up and claim an offer
Important:
- Signing up for a student offer while on another Google One extended trial revokes your current offer and switches you to the new one.
- If you’re a Google AI Pro member and you switch to a student Google AI Plus trial, you’ll remain a Google AI Pro member until the end of your current billing cycle.
- If you switch to the trial version of your current Google AI subscription, you immediately change to the trial offer.
- If you’re a Google AI Ultra member and switch to a student offer, you’ll remain a Google AI Ultra member until the end of your current billing cycle.
To claim a Google One student offer:
- On your device, go to one.google.com/ai-student.
- Select a student offer.
- Verify your student status through SheerID when requested.
- Complete the subscription flow, including adding a form of payment if you have not already done so.

Understand what happens when your offer ends
When your student offer ends, you automatically convert to a regular paid Google AI Plus or Google AI Pro plan, except where consent is required under applicable laws. You will be notified ahead of the upcoming change.
If you have a YouTube Premium Student bundle with Google AI Pro, your plan will transition to Google AI Pro, which may include YouTube Premium Lite. Learn more about where YouTube Premium Lite is available with Google AI Pro.
Find answers to common questions
Do I need to reverify with SheerID?Yes, if you have claimed a Google AI Pro student offer or Google AI Pro with YouTube Premium Student bundle, you must reverify through SheerID usually every 12 months, for up to 4 consecutive years. You will receive an email when it’s time to reverify.
If you do not reverify with SheerID, you will lose the offer and may be charged for the regular price of the membership.
When you switch from a 12-month trial
You immediately upgrade to your new paid plan. You cannot downgrade your membership back to the trial.
When you switch from a discounted Google AI Pro student plan
If you switch to a regular Google AI Pro or Ultra plan, you immediately change to your new paid plan.
If you switch to a regular Google AI Plus plan, you will switch at the end of your current billing cycle.
If you downgrade back to a student plan, you will switch at the end of your current billing cycle. You may be prompted to reverify your student status.
When you switch from a regular paid Google One membership
- If you’re a current Google AI Plus or Google AI Pro member and you switch to a student Google AI Pro offer or Google AI Pro with YouTube Premium Student bundle: You immediately change to your new plan and will receive a prorated refund for the remainder of your billing cycle.
- If you’re a Google AI Pro member and you switch to a student trial: You’ll remain a Google AI Pro member until the end of your current billing cycle.
- If you’re a Google AI Ultra member and switch to a Google AI Plus student trial, Google AI Pro student offer, or Google AI Pro with YouTube Premium Student bundle: You’ll remain an Google AI Ultra member until the end of your current billing cycle.
If you have an existing YouTube Premium or Lite subscription and then subscribe to a student offer that includes YouTube benefits, you may have duplicate subscriptions. Learn how to manage duplicate subscriptions.
In 2025 and early 2026, Google One offered a Google AI Pro student trial. If you currently have a Google AI Pro student trial, you may be eligible for a limited-time discount on regular Google AI plans when your 12-month trial ends.

Each product has its own AI usage limits. Your usage limits depend on which features you are using and your Google AI plan. If you reach your plan’s limit, Google AI Pro student members can purchase AI credits to get extra usage in Google Flow and Google Antigravity.
Recurring add-ons such as Google Home Premium, Google Health Premium, and upgraded storage (2 TB for Google AI Plus, 10 TB for Google AI Pro) are unavailable with a Google One student offer.
