Edit videos stored in Google Drive with Google Vids

You can use Google Vids to trim, add music, or make other simple edits to videos saved in Google Drive that were created outside of Google Vids.

Important:

  • You can edit these file types:
    • MP4
    • Quicktime
    • OGG
    • WebM
  • Individual clips have limits of 35 minutes and 4 GB.
  1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
  2. Select the video you want to edit to open in preview.
  3. At the top right, click Open.
    • A new Vids project opens with your video file inserted as the first scene.

Tip: To save the edited video in the original format, at the top left, click File and then Download as MP4. Learn how to share and collaborate with Vids.
