Misrepresentation: Misleading content (Nov. 2017)
Google provides translated versions of the Advertising Policies Help Center, though they're not meant to change the content of the policies. The English version is the official language used to enforce Google Ads policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.
In November 2017, Google will update its Misrepresentation policy to clarify our position on ads that mislead or trick the user into interacting with them. As part of the clarification Google will expand the scope of what is monitored under "ads depicting features that do not work." Image ads that show "Download" and "Install" buttons will no longer be allowed.
The Misrepresentation policy will be updated to reflect this change.
