Information Harvesting
Google provides translated versions of the Advertising Policies Help Center, though they're not meant to change the content of the policies. The English version is the official language used to enforce Google Ads policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.
The Google Ads policy on information harvesting will be changing on May 17, 2011. This change will affect all countries. We made this decision to protect users' personally identifiable information. If your site requests payment, financial, or personal information from visitors, please review the new requirements and make any needed changes to avoid having your ads suspended.
- Clear, accessible disclosure of how personal information will be used before visitors submit
- Option to discontinue direct communications in the above disclosure
- SSL when collecting payment and certain financial and personal information
After the new policy goes into effect, the information harvesting policy will be updated to reflect this change.
