**Background:** The <kbd>plzsendtehcodez</kbd> tag was predominantly used on SO to label questions with some variant of the phrase "please send the codes" present in the language of the question, or more generally any homework question directly copied from an assignment without any attempt made by the original poster to solve it himself.

It is now [considered bad practice to apply the tag][3] to a question and users with retagging privileges should remove it as necessary.
