Sorry in advance as this issue won't have the best context as I'm not too sure where the error we are getting is coming from. But as it only occurs when we upgrade pytest-xdist I thought I'd start here, and hopefully you might be able to recommend a solution or where best to ask about this further.

We seem to be encountering an error with our tests where whenever we upgrade pytest-xdist from 2.5 -> 3.X, they start timing out. Our recent attempt was upgrading to 3.8, however on a few other versions in the past we've seen the same thing occur where tests hang and eventually time out. Were there any major changes in the 3.X releases that could be a possible cause?
