libpng buffer overflow when loading progressive images
SYSTEMS AFFECTED
libpng 1.0.13 and previous
libpng 1.2.3 and previous
PROBLEM
Accordingly with Ximian support web site [http://support.ximian.org], a
potential buffer overflow exists in libpng when loading progressive
images.
impacted software are, at least, mozilla and Evolution.
SOLUTION
upgrade to lastest libpng version - 1.0.14 or 1.2.4*, and latest soft
versions (in case of static linking...) or recompile against new lib.
