Typhoon "Matmo" will Significantly Affect the Northern Vietnam from June 6 to 7

Typhoon "Matmo" will move northwestward at a speed of 25 kilometers per houron the 4th, gradually intensifying to typhoon or severe typhoon strength. It is expected to make landfall along the coast between Dianbai in Guangdong and Wanning in Hainan on the morning of the 5th, with its intensity weakening gradually after landfall. (Figure 1)

Affected by "Matmo", the eastern part of Quang Ninh Province in Vietnam will experience strong winds of 5 to 7 levels, the northeastern coastal areas will reach 7 to 9 levelsof , with gusts reaching 10 to 11 levels. Northeastern Vietnam will see moderate to heavy rain, with parts of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, and Ha Giang provinces experiencing torrential rain, and localized extremely heavy rain (50-120 mm) on the 6th. After the day, influenced by the remnants of the typhoon, northern Vietnam and northeastern Laos will experience moderate to heavy rain, with localized torrential rain on the 7th.(Figure 2)
