水都大阪の歴史

HISTORY

大阪は水運を利用して経済と文化の中心都市として発展し、明治時代には「水の都」と呼ばれました。
現在、かつての水辺の賑わいを取り戻すために、市街地の水路や川を活用し、活気ある都市空間を再生する取り組みが進んでいます。
21世紀以降、「水の回廊」を中心に河川空間の整備やライトアップなど様々なプロジェクトが行われています。
水都大阪の魅力創造に向けて、生命の源である水と、人々の生活を豊かにし文化を発展させる場としての川との絆を見つめ直すとともに、水都大阪の軌跡をご紹介します。
