Korean Cultural Day held, Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Northeastern University

To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Northeastern University in 2013, International Cooperation and Exchange Department and the General Consulate of the Republic of Korea jointly held the Korean Cultural Day on Oct. 12, 2012 with the theme of "Exchanges, Cooperation and Development". The Korean Cultural Day is the first one among a series of international days to be held in NEU.

The opening ceremony was held at 9:00am. The Consul General from General Consulate of the ROK, professors from several renowed Korean universities, senior officials from Korean companies in Shenyang, Deputy Director of Int"l Office, Liaoning Education Department attended the ceremony.

President DING Lieyun, Vice President WANG Fuli and deans and directors from Schools and Administrative Departments also attended the opening ceremony.

Later in the morning, exhibitions of Korean food, geography, history, etc were held. In the afternoon, invited professors from Korean universities gave lectures on different topics at different schools, such as Science and Technology Development Process and Engineering Education of Korea, Applications of Group Theory to Combinatotics, Improving Technology of Surface Bio-materials, Modern Art of Korea, etc. A few Korean companies including Lotte, STX, Korean Tourism Organization, etc also held employment meetings and gave company presentations to NEU students and teachers.
