Student[MultivariateCalculus][ApproximateIntTutor] - plot or animate the approximation of an integral

Calling Sequence

ApproximateIntTutor()

ApproximateIntTutor(f(x,y), x=a..b, y=c..d, z=e..f, coordinates)

Parameters

f(x, y)

-

(optional) algebraic expression in two variables

a..b, c..d

-

(optional) intervals

x, y

-

(optional) variable

z=e..f

-

(optional) range for plot

coordinates

-

(optional) specify the coordinate system

Description

The ApproximateIntTutor(f(x,y)) calling sequence launches a tutor interface that computes, plots, and animates approximated definite integrals of f(x,y) on the interval x=a..b and y=c..d.

If f(x,y), x=a..b, y=c..d, and coordinates are not specified, ApproximateIntTutor uses default parameters.

The coordinates option can be set to either coordinates=cartesian or coordinates=polar. If polar is specified, the first variable is assumed to be the radial component. The default is cartesian.

The ApproximateInt command offers equivalent capabilities to ApproximateIntTutor where interaction takes place in the worksheet interface. See the Student[MultivariateCalculus][ApproximateInt] help page.

To change the default colors of the plot objects, see the Student[SetColors] help page.

When the ApproximateIntTutor is running, interaction with the worksheet is not possible.
