File Numbering in the Workbook Navigator
You can apply file and directory numbering to your workbook attachments. With numbering enabled, files and folders displayed in the Workbook Navigator are numbered:
1,2,3,4,... for top-level files and folders.
1.1,1.2,1.3,... for second-level files and folders.
1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3,... for third-level files and folders, and so on.
To enable numbering in the Workbook Navigator:
On the Workbook tab of the ribbon, in the Navigator group, click Show Numbering ( ). Alternatively, right-click anywhere in the Navigator pane, and select Numbering from the available options. Numbering is now enabled in the Workbook Navigator.
