The crew aboard the C-LEGEND successfully solved a safety hazard during recent client operations. In a Behavior-Based Safety Report (BBS), crewmembers noted 18 containers lacking security ties to hold the latches in place during transport. The crew retrieved zip ties from the engine room to secure the latches. They also recommended always double-checking cargo before beginning cargo operations. Several coordinators commended the crew for their quick efforts. "The commitment to safety by the crew of the C-LEGEND is a direct reflection of the culture onboard," said Cory Jarreau, General Manager of Caribbean Operations. "I am very proud of the crew and the excellent service they provide to our client." Jesse Killian, Operations Coordinator, commended the leadership onboard and the crew for their vigilance. "The crew has been providing exemplary attention to detail in their work since joining the vessel," said Jesse. A client representative praised the intervention, stating, "I can’t overstate the importance of having found and corrected all the missing tie wraps securing container latches." Thank you for consistently delivering excellence, C-LEGEND crew. Keep up the good work!

Recently marking 40 years with Edison Chouest Offshore, Senior Electrical Technician Greg Eymard stays driven through the constant changes in the maritime industry. Born and raised in Galliano, LA, Greg began his career in the air conditioning business. He then transitioned to work as an offshore electrical contractor before taking a job at North American Shipbuilding. Spanning four decades, Greg’s career with Chouest started in the electrical maintenance department. From there, he became the manager of that department, then moved to the engineering department. Having served as Senior Electrical Engineering Manager for nearly 23 years now, Greg credits the people he works with and the type of work he does for keeping him at Chouest. "I love the people I work with," said Greg. "I also like that it’s not repetitive, hum-drum work. I’m very fortunate that the Chouest family is always looking to do bigger and better. We’re always just constantly keeping up with the new technology, and Mr. Chouest is on board with that, so it makes my job very interesting." In his engineering role, Greg has seen Chouest vessels evolve from oil-fueled vessels to diesel-electric hybrid vessels with batteries. He’s also worked on a variety of specialty vessels, including the first icebreaker, the NATHANIEL B. PALMER. Throughout his career, Greg has been continuously inspired and motivated by Mr. Gary Chouest. "Mr. Gary taught me that it doesn’t matter who you’re talking to; each and every one of the employees are important and play an important role in the makeup of the company," said Greg. "He understands what his business does for this community, and his generosity shows throughout the community." Greg and his wife, Linda, have been happily married for 52 years and currently reside in Thibodaux. The couple shares three grandchildren – Alexandra, Shelby, and Jon-Marie – the children of their late son. He also has a 6-month-old great-grandson, and another great-grandson due in May. He is actively involved in his church community at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, serving as an Acolyte, Eucharistic Minister, and Lector.
