IPEA International Engineer Project
Japan has been participating in the international registration system of engineers based on the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) (formerly the EMF Constitution) , a multi-national agreement among private engineers associations from 15 countries and regions. The IPEA aims to facilitate international activities of experienced engineers who satisfy certain requirements and to register them as International Professional Engineers (abbreviated as IntPE).
Japan began the registration of building structural engineers in FY2008. The Japan IPEA Monitoring Committee (secretariat: The Institution of Professional Engineers, Japan) entrusts the assessment and registration work to the IPEA Building Engineer Qualification Committee and JAEIC has been serving as its secretariat.
