The Registration Department is responsible for ensuring that all vessels registered with the Belize Registry comply with the relevant national and international laws and regulations and have official navigational documentation to navigate on international seas.
The Technical Department is responsible for technical, statutory, and conformance services and support to ship owners and operators through the interpretation of national legislation and international convention.
The Seafarer Department is responsible for the processing of seafarer endorsements for Certificates of Competencies, in accordance with STCW Convention and the monitoring of crew compliance on board all Belize registered vessels.
The Belize High Seas Fisheries Unit is responsible for the regulation and control of Belize-flagged vessels which engage in fishing or related activities on the high seas in accordance with the High Seas Fishing Act 2013.
