Yasuyuki KONO is Professor in Program of Artificial Intelligence and Mechanical Engineering, School of Enginnering at Kwansei Gakuin University. He received his Ph.D. from Graduate School of Engineering Science , Osaka University in 1994. He has conducted research on generic framework for intelligent tutoring systems, in particular research on nonmonotonic inductive student modeling. He has also conducted research on multimodal interfaces and on spoken dialog sytems at Research & Development Center, Toshiba Corporation. He has conducted research on multimodal understanding, wearable augmented memory systems, intelligent interfaces, and spoken dialog systems while he was Associate Professor at Graduate School of Information Science, NAIST (Nara Institute of Science & Technology), and his research interests are also on the areas. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, served on the Program Committee of CIRA (International Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Robotics and Automation), IWSAWC2005, IWSAWC2006 (International Workshop on Smart Appliances and Wearable Computing), and serves as Finance Chair of ISWC2005 (IEEE 9th International Symposium on Wearable Computers) Organizing Committee. He also served on the Program Committee of Pervasive2004 Workshop on Memory and Sharing of Experiences. He is also a member of ACM and served on the Program Committee of IUI2018 and IUI2006 (International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces). He is an active member of IPSJ (Information Processing Society of Japan) and serves as Chair of SIG Human-Computer Interaction. He is also a member of JSAI (Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence), and HIS (Human Interface Society).
