HULL CONSTRUCTION SECTION MEMBER
Mr. T.K.
I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I see blocks being put together from nothing to a large ship.

1. Please tell us about your current job and responsibilities.
When installing a hull block, I am in charge of ``positioning,'' cutting and joining parts to make fine adjustments to match the size of the ship.
2. What do you find most rewarding about your work?
I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I see blocks being put together from nothing to a large ship.
Also, being recognized for my work skills and being entrusted with a job is also motivating.
3.What kind of experience or learning did you have at this company? Also, is there anything you would like to improve your skills in the future?
I lost weight because my job requires physical movement (lol)
While I was working on gas pipe cutting, I noticed that my senior's cutting surfaces were precise and smooth and he carried out the task without any interruptions. This made me realize the significance of maintaining the correct posture while cutting in order to avoid hand fatigue and shakiness. I am keen to continue learning these techniques to improve my skills further.
4. Do you have any advice for juniors joining the company in terms of preparation before joining the company?
As long as you can greet them cheerfully, you'll be fine. Is it cute to be a little cheeky? (lol)
5.What do you do on your days off?
I enjoy fishing during my days off, particularly for yellowtail and flounder.

YA-san
I would like to say that it's the feeling I get when I see something come to fruition based on a design I made myself, but I haven't had much experience of this yet, so I'm looking forward to experiencing it for myself in the future.

1. Please tell us about your current job and responsibilities.
I am involved in the design of hull structures. Currently, I am mainly identifying design changes related to rule revisions. Specifically, there have been major changes recently to the rules related to structures, so I am investigating the impact of these changes, such as how much the weight will change and where reinforcement is required.
2. What do you find most rewarding about your work?
I would like to say that it's the feeling I get when I see something come to fruition based on a design I made myself, but I haven't had much experience of this yet, so I'm looking forward to experiencing it for myself in the future.
3. What kind of experience or learning did you have at this company? Also, is there anything you would like to improve your skills in the future?
I learned a lot of things, such as ship structure, regulations, and how to draw blueprints. My current job is also directly related to new regulations and future ships, so I think it will be a good experience if I can complete it. I am still learning the basics, so I would like to first work hard to be able to look at blueprints and correctly understand the structure, and to be able to draw correct blueprints.
4. Do you have any advice for juniors joining the company in terms of preparation before joining the company?
It's important to learn to lead a disciplined life. Even just getting into the habit of doing small things like waking up at a fixed time on weekdays will be helpful in the future.
5. What do you do on your days off?
I spend most of my time at home. I play games and watch movies. When I go out, I enjoy walking around town and just looking at the scenery, or popping into any shop I happen to see. Recently, I've been doing a bit of running since I took part in the Hakodate Marathon!

HULL REPAIR DIVISION STAFF
1. Please tell us about your current job and responsibilities.
As the person in charge of hull construction for a repaired ship, I listen to crews' and ship owners' construction requests, manage construction details and schedules, supervise on-site workers, and arrange necessary supplies.
2. What do you find most rewarding about your work?
When I handed over the ship I was responsible for to the shipowner, they expressed gratitude and asked if I could take over again.
3. What kind of experience or learning did you have at this company? Also, is there anything you would like to improve your skills in the future?
I studied about ships in university, but I discovered there were many aspects of the field that I was unaware of. Through my experiences, I learned the importance of being able to learn and adapt quickly, especially when working on something with which I have limited prior knowledge.
I would like to obtain more qualifications that I can utilize and proceed with my work smoothly.
