In the city of Hefei, a team dedicated to the inheritance of the Hui-style flower arrangement art has promoted the development and exchange of the art across the province.

Fu Yulan, 81, is the initiator of this team and once worked as a teacher at the Anhui Agricultural University before retirement. She had helped the school offer the course of "flower arrangement art" to students in the early years. In addition, she had held exhibitions of flower arrangement works from students on a regular basis, which drew attention on and off campus.

Over the years, Fu and her team members have dug deep into the local culture of Anhui, integrating elements of folk customs and natural landscapes into traditional flower arrangement art. In the year of 2022, the Hui-style flower arrangement art was inscribed on the list of provincial intangible cultural heritage of Anhui Province.

Currently, Fu's team remains active at the forefront of promoting flower arrangement art, enabling more and more people to be fascinated by the charm of the art. (Xinhua/Zhang Duan)
