Medina County’s Biosolids Upgrade: Energy Recovery and Exceptional Quality
Faced with increasing operational costs, a failing 40-year-old Zimpro wet air oxidation system (WAO), and rising solids inventory, the utility undertook a major upgrade in 2018. By implementing Cambi’s thermal hydrolysis process (CambiTHP) in combination with anaerobic digestion, the plant radically improved its energy profile, biosolids quality, and long-term sustainability.
Waterschap Vechtstromen: Centralising Sludge Treatment at Hengelo
Instead of renovating digestion facilities at multiple locations, Waterschap Vechtstromen centralised sludge treatment for about 20 of its wastewater treatment plants at its Hengelo facility using Cambi’s thermal hydrolysis process (THP).
Tarnowskie Wodociągi: Transforming Sludge Management
Tarnowskie Wodociągi (Tarnów Waterworks), responsible for treating wastewater in the Tarnów area of Poland, struggled with the disposal of 26,000 tonnes of sewage sludge annually. The plant collects wastewater primarily from the Tarnów area, with about 10% of its sewage being industrial.
