According to AFP, on the 29th local time, sandstorms struck several regions in Iraq, including Basra Governorate and Najaf Governorate. The sky turned yellow, and visibility dropped significantly. As of the time of writing, at least 54 people have sought hospital treatment due to breathing difficulties.
The local meteorological department warned that some areas might face further sandstorms over the next two days. Experts urged the public to remain vigilant amid the unstable.
