TI-Basic Developer is not the site it once was. While its information on commands and other calculator features remains almost second-to-none, its forum, archives, and even hosting service, Wikidot, have been decaying for years. The calculator community would love to see what you're working on, or help you in your next coding adventure, but TI-Basic Developer is no longer the place to do it.
Instead, you should head over to Cemetech (primarily American) or TI-Planet (primarily international). Both are active, well-established forums with their own archives, chatrooms, reference material, and abundant coding tools and resources. We'll see you there, we hope.

the custom font thing does not change the font
As I said, it works for me. I did change the font on my calculator.
The only thing wrong with the custom font is, don't edit a program. Your calculator will crash. If it did not work, you may need to read the readme.txt file.
EDIT:
If you have an 83+ Silver Edition, an 84+ Basic Edition, or an 84+ Silver Edition: Install zStart v1.3.013.8xk. If you have an 83+ Basic Edition: Install zStart v1.3.013_83.8xk. If you install the wrong one, it will crash very quickly.
EDIT 2: Even if you accidentally install both versions, and run the right one, it will still crash. Both versions of the apps are conflicting apps. Just like if you try to run Inequalz and Transform apps. But, the calculator/app won't say if they are conflicting. This is what happens if you do so:

Why did you intstall ZStart83 if youre using an 84? Theres a file in the .zip that clearly says that it will crash if you use the wrong version

I'm not sure how to use the 8-color image tool. Everytime I try to use a normal image it doesn't display 8 colors, just the normal black and white. I tried to follow the instructions on the readme.txt and it didn't help when I tried making my own image. When I go in settings for Zstart, I press on find picture, it goes back up to the top but it still says "No." please help
Which zStart are you using? I don't see the option you're looking for. Of coarse it's going to be B/W, it's monochrome calculators. Unless you're doing gray-scale, I don't see it
