Cute Anime Girl Papercraft - Spring
If you've had enough of that cold, dreary weather, don't worry, old man winter is blowing out and spring is coming in. For the most part of the Northern Hemisphere (any country above the equator), spring comes on the months of March, April, and May - with some Asian countries starting on February.
As we await for the snow to melt, the rivers to swell from runoff or spring rain, and flowering plants to bloom - here's a cute anime girl papercraft from Korean site Botpa with that particular theme in mind. This papercraft model also comes with a green umbrella that resembles a frog head and very colorful painted background, complete with flowers and the lively colors of spring. Download the anime girl papercraft for free at the Botpa web site, it's in Korean so you might want to check out the pic below on what to click.

Radirgy Video Game Papercraft
Here's the Radirgy video game papercraft from developer MileStone Inc. Radirgy was a popular Japanese arcade video game shooter that was ported to the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo GameCube. It was a vertical scrolling shooter that featured anime inspired graphics. It debuted on the consoles back in 2006 and was planned to be released in the US a year later, unfortunately, lack of interest killed that plan.
The Radirgy video game papercrafts has three paper models, one for each of the consoles that it came out on. Each paper model represents the lead characters on the game.
First we've got the DreamCast papercraft model, Tadayo. Then Ruki as the GameCube papercraft. And finally, Shizuru as the PlayStation 2 papercraft model. To download the models, click on the boxed question mark below the game's cover art.

Doctor Who Papercraft
Here are some great Doctor Who papercrafts from a fan web site. Doctor Who is Britain's and Guiness World Records' longest-running science fiction TV show, it is also a significant part of British pop culture. It has garnered numerous awards and nominations throughout its running. The fan site hosting the Doctor Who papercrafts belong to Sean Huxter, a 3D creature animator. It has three paper models including a K9 papercraft (robotic dog), an airship, and a Lady Cassandra papercraft (think of her as a wrinkle free version of The Evil Dead book cover).

Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Link Papercraft - Complete
Remember Chokipeta's Four Swords Link? well there's more... Ok, not really Chokipeta, but a creative individual has edited Chokipeta's original pattern and created three more Link papercraft (red, purple, blue) just like in the Hyrulean Adventure video game, now we can truly call it Four Swords. As you can see on the picture, Red Link holds what looks like a Fire Rod, Purple Link is holding a bunch of Rupees, and Blue link is holding a bomb. The original Chokipeta pattern is intact so there's no question on how good it is, there are a few additions to it which comes in the form of new textures and parts and they seem to blend very well, it's a nice complement to the original. You can spot the new parts easily by looking at the outlines, they're the ones with the darker tones.
Notice the seven and fish symbol? it's the same one on the Princess Crown papercraft posted a few weeks ago. I didn't know it back then but apparently the symbol is from the editing designer - he/she goes by the alias ichtus7 and can be found on the Spanish-based site Elotrolado. For my non-Spanish speaking readers a direct download link is available below via Mediafire. Thanks to our reader Manuel for sending in the photos, patterns, and pointing us to the right direction.

Chromehounds Papercraft - Chokipeta
These Chokipeta Chromehounds papercraft might be old but it still kicks ass. It came out a few months after I started this blog back in 2006, I knew about it then but for some reason I forgot do a post on it. It was based on a video game of the same name and for the Xbox 360 console and was first released in Japan on June 2006. These Chromehounds papercrafts include three mechs: Morskoj, Sal Kar, and Tarakia. Each mech represents a fictional nation that make up the Neroimus region (where the game takes place). This is classic ChokipetaKOBO work, clean lines, well planned out pattern, and great instructions. Free download is still available at the official Chromehounds Japan web site.

Anime School Girl Papercraft
Update from the ~terrase web site. Ok, so I received some e-mail questions from anime fans about some papercrafts I labeled as anime but does not really belong to any particular series. I always try my best to put a proper title to papercrafts, specially if it's related to a particular TV series, film, or video game.
With this post I used the word anime not in reference to any particular animation series but anime as a character design technique (large eyes, stylistic facial expressions, etc..). This chibi-type anime school girl papercraft is from the same designer that brought us the Kitsune and Pumpkin Musume paper models, it is named Sun S - I think?

Gurren Lagann Mecha Papercraft
Anime fans must be having a blast, we've had two great posts within this week that includes the Super Robot/Mecha paper models and yesterdays' Full Metal Alchemist. Today we've got the Gurren Lagann mecha papercraft from a blog called Krauzer's Papercraft Mansion. The complete title is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (天元突破グレンラガン), it's a somewhat new Japanese anime TV series by Gainax and Konami. I haven't seen an episode of this in the US (I'm always late), but from the pics I saw on it's official site and some online videos, it looks promising. You can check out the links below to see some photos from the papercraft designer's blog on how he designed and built the pattern.

Full Metal Alchemist Papercraft
Some great looking anime papercrafts from designer Murzkine. This is on my list of all time favorite animes and I've watched every single one of its 51 TV series episode except for the movie sequel Conqueror of Shamballa, but before all that, it was the great manga series created by Hiromu Arakawa. These Full Metal Alchemist papercraft includes the two main characters, brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric. It's a hako-type (box) paper model, the pattern is quite solid and the designs on the face are dead on.

Cute Papercraft Toys - Kamimodel
From paper engineer Tetsuya Watabe's Kamimodel web site, we bring you his version of designer papercraft called ROMMY Sloth Paper Toys. There are currently four models on the site, but only 3 are available for free download. The first one is called "No. 02", then we have "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss", and finally "Manager XX".
What is a designer papercraft anyway?
If you don't know what a designer papercraft is, it's a description I call the simple and easy papercrafts that have a single pattern but is made to look like individually unique paper models by using various colors or textures to "re-color" or "re-paint" it, some patterns are even modified slightly. I've been seeing a surge in these kinds of paper models lately, and a majority of them coming from the graphic design and illustrator communities. There's an ongoing debate about the designer papercrafts real place within the papercraft community. Some like them and some don't. A lot of old-school papercrafters I know don't really like the idea of re-coloring the same pattern over-and-over, but I have a different take on it. I see these designer papercrafts as a good promotional tool to get new people to take up our craft and for beginners to easily developed their assembling techniques. Old-school papercrafters with their highly detailed paper models should not be worried about this at all, because eventually, the beginners that pick up this easy papercrafts would want to move on to something a bit more challenging.

After I did the Valentine's Day post from Canon's Creative Park I've been constantly receiving e-mail requests for other related sites that have Valentine's papercrafts. I started browsing around and I found this new entry on HP's Activity Center. There's a couple of pretty looking papercraft flowers worth checking out(Fuchsia flower and a Lily bouquet), and the rest are miscellaneous papercraft-related projects for kids.

Team Fortress 2 Papercraft
Just received an e-mail about some interesting stuff happening over at our friend Guillermo's place, something about a Team Fortress papercraft. Let's go find out.
From the looks of it they've got three Team Fortress papercrafts available so far, it includes the Heavy, Pyro, and the Spy. You can see from the sample photo above (Spy) on what the finished model would look like. As mentioned on their site, I would like to point out that the low-poly 3D models were created by digital artist Tom Tallian. And a job well done to Guillermo for creating the papercraft patterns.

Konica Minolta Animal Papercrafts
Konica Minolta is a company known mainly for their optical devices, medical and graphic imaging, office equipment, and measuring instruments. They were also known for their camera business back when they were still doing it, they have given it up due to financial losses. But in spite of all their difficulties, they found time to provide us with some good quality papercrafts. There's this section on their Japanese web site about environmental awareness, in it they have some animal papercrafts that are highly endangered. They might look like a funny bunch, but their situation is no laughing matter. Habitat destruction and hunting are the common threats that they share with each other. So build an animal papercraft in their likeness and help educate others of their plight.
