[uf-discuss] Vote-Links use cases ?

Hello,
Just wondering if there's a list of use cases for vote-links somewhere?
For example, are vote-links just a better version of rel-nofollow. 
(With rel="nofollow" being equivalent to rev="vote-against".) Or are
there other use cases.
(Note, I'm pretty certain there are other use cases that can be
used... but I just wanted to confirm it. It doesn't seem obvious
based on is here: http://microformats.org/wiki/vote-links Although
other pages, on the wiki, imply it.)
