It should be mentioned that for _any_ mailing list you are subscribed to, taking a look at the full mail headers will usually tell you a way to unsubscribe. Taking this list as an example, you'll find a header List-Unsubscribe: <http://vlists.pepperfish.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/lua-l-lists.lua.org>, <mailto:lua-l-request@lists.lua.org?subject=unsubscribe> which gives you a way to unsubscribe both via a web interface, as well as via mail (usually clicking on that part of the header in your mail reader will directly set up a mail which will unsubscribe you when sent). Some lists (not this) will also give unsubscription instructions at the bottom of every mail sent out. You must not imagine that those lists are immune against the basic wash of "please unsubscribe me" messages, though. -- David Kastrup
