While disentangling a nasty bug (to do with coroutines and tokenfilters
crashing the show when the lexer throws an error), I needed a function
to query the current global state of the JIT engine (i.e. on or off).
Perhaps I am looking at the wrong places but I can find no (simple)
method to do that. It's easy enough to patch in a function returning the
state but I'm still wondering whether there is an "official" method?
