Welcome to the Gemini Nucleus homepage. The goal is to create a production quality micro kernel based on the latest findings in operating system research. The result will be a micro-kernel having the following features:

• No abstractions, safe those necessary for protection
• Minimal set of primitives
• Support for capability based security
• Support for resource management needed for real-time and multimedia applications

Actual operating systems will be built on top of the Gemini Nucleus.

The Gemini Nucleus is the result of the merging of the Apostle Project and the Elysium Project. You can find a brief history of those projects here.
