North America Internship Program

Equipping People to Follow God’s Call

Each year, ECHO North America trains nine highly motivated interns who come from a wide variety of academic backgrounds and experience. Yet, they share one common passion – a heart to serve communities around the world with sustainable agricultural practices and appropriate technologies.

At ECHO North America's demonstration and research farm, these highly motivated young people spend 12 months gaining:

A Living Classroom!

Our global demonstration farm provides a unique learning environment for interns as they work alongside our experienced staff and interact with the many international workers who visit ECHO for training.

Our interns know that sustainable agriculture and the fullness of the Gospel are core to deep and lasting change in the communities where they will serve.

Equip an ECHO North America Intern

Your support has an impact that lasts far beyond an intern’s time at ECHO. Your gift is multiplied as they go on to dedicate their lives, labor and futures to addressing hunger and poverty around the world.

Program Overview

We equip eight interns each year with new interns arriving April 6th, 2026.

2026 Internship:
  • Applications open September 2, 2025
  • Applications due by December 1, 2025
  • Interviews are conducted in December/January
  • Internships are assigned in January 2026
  • Internship Starts April 6, 2026
  • Internship Ends April 23, 2027

When choosing interns, we consider things such as: international experience, work history, career direction, skills, relevant classes, and motivation.

2023 Internship Application Open Now

College graduates interested in agriculture and community development can apply now for the graduate-level internship cohort which will begin on May 31, 2023. Due to visa requirements, only citizens of the USA can be accepted at this time.

Steps To Apply
  1. Read the Job Posting for a full understanding of the internship commitment. Please note that at this time you need to be a citizen of the USA in order to apply.
    For more details you can download last year’s internship overview, the information in this overview is subject to change for each cohort.
  2. Download the Essay Questions [Word | PDF] and write your answers.
  3. Complete the Online Application.
    Have your answers ready to copy and paste from Step 2 as the application form may time out while writing longer answers.
  4. You will be contacted in January of 2023 with the results of your application.
