| 内容記述 | 本稿の目的は,ケニアの灌漑事業区の農民によるコメの消費過程の分析を通じて,アフリカ農村における食料分配のしくみとその機能を検討することである。検討の結果,(1)農民は,コメを分配することにより,集団内の消費量を平準化していること,(2)農民は,コメの市場価格の変動に応じて分配の方法を季節的に変えながら,村における地縁関係の拡大と血縁関係の継承の両方を志向していること,(3)政府や国際開発援助機関は,食料分配のような農村コミュニティによる共助のしくみを外部から補完することによって,その「内発的発展」に一定の役割を果たしうること,の3点を指摘する。本事例は,住民主体のコミュニティ開発に関わるうえで,外部者の側に必要となる視座やアプローチに対する示唆を与える。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This study examines the mechanism and function of food sharing practices in rural Africa through analyzing the rice consumption process of farmers in the irrigation scheme area in Kenya. The study revealed that: (1) The amount of rice consumption of farmers in the community is leveled through their sharing practices. (2) The farmers change the way of rice distribution seasonally corresponding to fluctuation of market price and intend to reconcile expanding territorial ties in the village and ensuring survival of blood ties into the next generation. (3) The government and international development aid agencies can support "endogenous development" of rural communities by complementing the mutual aid mechanism such as food sharing practices inside the community. This case study suggests the needed perspective and approach for outsiders to take when assuming a role in community initiative development. | |||||||||||
