Introduction
Do you have website where you want to have a login/registration form without having them sign-up with Wikidot or even trying to create a database in which you don't even know how to code/create a database? Well if you need/want want one I have found a solution. Try AuthPro. With AuthPro you can control who uses you site without needing them to sign-up with Wikidot. Take my site for example.
How To
All you need to do is create an account with AuthPro. After you get to this page follow the steps below to manage your users.
Steps
When you click the the "Create Account" tab located on the top left of the site select "I want to try Free account" option. Then select whether you want to setup your account. Lets assume you chose the "I want to use setup wizard to configure my account now" option.
Next fill out the requested information. When it asks "where did you hear about AuthPro", put user j_darby98.
After you fill out the requested information you have five options to choose from for your site:
- I want members to register for free and access my members' area
- I want members to register for free and access my members' area after they verify their email address
- I want to manually verify members before they can access my members area
- I will issue login/password for members manually, no self-registration allowed
- I want members to pay to get access to my members' area
Choose which one that would suit you. Lets take me for example. I will choose the option "I want members to register for free and access my members' area after they verify their email address".
Then, when you have completed that last step put you site URL. For example my site URL would be Redirect Business cPanel. After you do that chose whether you want your site URL to be cloaked or not.
Second-lastly, items you want to be apart of the registration fill-out form. On the last part put up anyone who would want to use your site.
Lastly create a page for the login and use the redirect module with the site given to you for login. Go to your site manager and set that page you created for the login as the default page when you go to the site.

i do not understand the advantage of such extra filter for memberships on a second account site if the standard account setup of wikidot is doing the same…
If you need a private site - which allows in the free account only 5 members ( and more in the reading only part!) then there is the difference only 5 members more in the free account type of this extra business, and they cannot comment or post or edit something ( without membership of wikidot iself ) in your site.
If you need more members you have to pay this extra account business with a monthly fee which is equal the first upgrade-costs of wikidots pro light.
And they cannot do anything on wikidot without creating their own account on wikidot also.
I see no advantage for such extra filter.

With this site (Wikidot) a lot of people who want to see the requested site (private & even closed) must have a Wikidot account. When they create an account they would only want to view the site and not edit in most cases. I am a good example of this. On my Delta Academy LV account I created a site in which the students can use the site i.e the forum/simple-chat, viewing the site, and for us keeping track of who uses the site: Delta Academy HW Help. This is supposed to be an alternative for educational sites and even business sites to manage their users for free and not have to go through making a database on which they do not even know what they are doing. The best part is —- this service is free and does not have the hassle of making people create an account that they don't need.

No, anyone can view a closed site even if they don't have a Wikidot account.
Like Helmut, I don't really see the point of this. I think everything you want to do can be done via categories and permissions and you just seem to be creating another username and password system, so why not use the Wikidot account system?

This is exact the same what wikidot does - controlling the accounts by email adress verifying.
And: a "private" site cannot be viewn by non wikidot accounts ( they are anonymous to wikdiot)
and: a "closed" site can be viewn by all ( also anonymous ).
I see no useful advantage … I see only the business spam link to an outer business!

He's actually making it harder for users! Anyone who signs up for his system and who then wants or is allowed to edit a site will still have to have a Wikidot account unless he sets the edit permissions to anonymous in which case he can't see who's edited pages.
