Announcing a lecture and concert performance by visiting composer and sound artist Rainer Linz (Australia). Student Cultural Centre Belgrade May 8 2001 lecture begins 19.00hr concert performance 21.00 hr Music and the Body A lecture/discussion on the subject of sound and the body. Topics to include performance sound derived from body signals (EKG, EEG etc) such as is heard in the work of Stelarc, as well as a consideration of how the body responds to a range of sonic stimulation. The structure of background music forms will also be discussed, leading to a consideration of new music composition based on the physiological parameters of the listener. This is not a piano A solo concert performance based on Linz's own electronic instrument design. Using light, pressure and ultrasound sensors as well as a miniature keyboard, it extends the concept of a keyboard instrument to provide multitimbral possibilities in performance.
