Intra-Prefectural Call Charge Reductions

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) today submitted notification to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications of the following reductions for intra-prefectural calls for distances over 20km.
The reductions comply with the price-cap regulation to be introduced on October 1, 2000.

1. Details of Price Reductions

In addition to reducing call charges for intra-prefectural calls for distances over 20km, we will consolidate the existing five bands for long distance calls into three bands.
At the same time, we will increase the applicability of the evening discount rate from the current over 60km band to the 20km60km band.

2. Implementation

The charge reductions will be implemented on Sunday, October 1, 2000.
