At this side event, the latest research outcomes relating to the requisite emissions reductions for all of Asia, including Japan, China and India and the means for their realization, towards the halving of global GHG emissions by 2050 will be reported. There will be parallel reports on initiatives towards scenario research and its social implementation for the developing region of Iskandar, Malaysia in addition to a discussion with the policy-implementing institutions.
At the exhibition booth at the COP17/CMP7 venue, the status and outcomes of the broad scope of NIES’ environmental research initiatives - with a focus on global warming - will be introduced. This will be done by means of exhibitions on climate change risk assessments using scenarios, climate projections and impact prediction models as well as GHG monitoring etc., towards the realization of Asian LCS.
