Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, the United Nations Office
on Drug and Crime, on April 11, 2018.
On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, Justice Minister Kamikawa received a courtesy visit
from Mr. Jeremy Douglas, Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific,
the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC). An overview of the visit is as
follows.
Minister Kamikawa welcomed Mr. Douglas and expressed her desire to strengthen the
Ministry of Justice’s partnership with the UNODC as they work together to plan the
14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which is to be
held in Kyoto in 2020 ("Kyoto Congress").

Mr. Douglas stated that he would like to encourage the ASEAN countries to participate
in the Kyoto Congress.
