Courtesy Visit to the Minister of Justice by the Secretary-General of ASEAN
On May 24, 2024, Minister KOIZUMI Ryuji received a courtesy visit by H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, the Secretary-General of ASEAN.
Minister Koizumi welcomed Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and exchanged views with him on the implementation of the initiatives contained in the “Joint Statement” and the “Work Plan” endorsed at the ASEAN-Japan Special Meeting of Justice Ministers last year, as well as cooperation toward the ASEAN-G7 Next Leaders Forum, of which first meeting will be held in Tokyo next month. In addition, both sides affirmed to work closely together so that mutual understanding and cooperation between Japan and ASEAN will be further enhanced in the field of law and justice.
