Publication of "Resilience, Peacebuilding, and Preventing Violent Extremism"

JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (JICA Ogata Research Institute) published a book titled, "Resilience, Peacebuilding, and Preventing Violent Extremism ," in July 2025, as a result of the Institute’s research project "Research on Resilience, Peacebuilding, and Preventing Violent Extremism: A Complex Systems Perspective on Sustaining Peace ."

This book analyzes the root causes of violent extremism and proposes ways to strengthen resilience through peacebuilding and development. It challenges traditional security-focused approaches by emphasizing social cohesion and adaptive peacebuilding.
