Final Opinions adopted at WTPF 2013
WTPF provides a venue for the exchange of views and information enabling policy-makers worldwide to develop a shared vision on issues arising from the emergence of new telecommunication/ICT services and technologies. In addition, it allows the consideration of any other policy issue affecting telecommunications/ICTs which would benefit from a global exchange of views leading to the adoption of opinions reflecting common views.
WTPF does not produce prescriptive regulatory outcomes, although it does prepare reports and adopt opinions by consensus for further consideration by Member States, Sector Members and other ITU meetings.
During the WTPF 2013 preparatory process, contributions on a number of
proposed draft Opinions were received from diverse stakeholders.
On 8 February, the Informal Experts Group (IEG) approved - by consensus - the text of six draft Opinions, for further discussion at WTPF in May 2013.
