Domestic Institution and International Cooperation: The Case of Intellectual Property Protection

Outline

We argue that civil law states prefer geographic indication while common law states prefer trademarks. Given that they have different domestic IP regimes, whether they can cooperate internationally is a critical question form both scholarly and policy perspectives.
