Climate Change Governance under Sino-US Rivalry(2022_2_40_023)

Outline

This research project combines two typically separate disciplines?international relations and sustainability science?to examine how changes in certain strategic dimensions of Sino?US relations have shaped regional and international responses to climate change. Although certain strategic actions taken by China and the US to enhance their respective power have noticeably and negatively impacted several important international regimes, political arrangements, and norms in a narrow, top-down sense, their rivalry might also have positively affected new normative development in a broad, bottom-up sense, including movements by individual companies, industries, and communities.
